The Bible and sex is nowadays seen as an explosive combination. At the same time, there’s evidence in our society of a schizophrenia regarding sexual morality. On the one hand sex is seen as trivial – ‘casual sex’ – whilst on the other there’s growing alarm over child sex abuse, ‘date rape’ and pornography. We tend to see a paedophile on every street corner but at the same time we’re blind to the sexualisation of human beings all around us in the name of freedom, entertainment and profit. How does the Bible’s teaching relate to our postmodern culture? With Jonathan Burnside, Dale Kuehne, Ian Rose and Chris Willmore.
