Is biblical law green?

The impending extinction of species like the tiger, the melting icecaps and the ravaging of the rainforests are symptoms of our emerging global crisis. Yet all this raises deep questions of justice because the poorest developing countries will be hit earliest and hardest by climate change, even though they have contributed least to the problem. The present environmental crisis is not primarily a technological challenge, but a moral and theological one. Yet for some people, the Bible is as eco-friendly as an oil slick. For others, the story of a God who creates and sustains a wonderful world is a call to care for creation. How does the Bible see the relationship between humanity and the environment?
